  • Convenient for all the major sights, this venerable bar has more hams dangling, barrels of sherry, old posters and traditional tapas .

  • One of the city’s best tapas bars. The wine list is exhaustive, as you might guess from the many wine racks on view.

  • Built into the old city wall, just inside the Judería, with Moorish arches and a stone floor, this atmospheric bar offers a good range of tapas .

    This elegant establishment is built inside an ancient Moorish hammam (baths). It’s a pleasant stop, with an excellent view of La Giralda (see Seville Cathedral & La Giralda).

  • One of Andalucía’s finest restaurants. Belgian chef Jacques Vanhoren blends the best of his native cuisine with high points of Spanish cookery.

  • The fresh seafood, brought in daily from Motril, is highly recommended. It’s a big hit with the food critics – so it must be good.

  • With another superb location on the cliff affording panoramic views of the sea, this place is a popular spot with photographers. The menu is eclectic, with the emphasis on steak and seafood.

  • Rows of antique wine barrels create the atmosphere here. The cheese boards are a good bet, as well as montaditos (small open sandwiches).

  • In a town noted for elegance, its best restaurant is formal, as you would expect. It serves excellent seafood.

  • One of the city’s smartest eateries, serving traditional fare in a sumptuous setting. Try the eponymous churrasco (grilled pork loin with spicy red pepper sauce).
