  • 1. Arte Cordobés, Córdoba

    A good choice for traditional Córdovan silver. Everything from small sculptures to filigree jewellery is on offer. Gold filigree creations are available as well.

  • 2. Ghadamés, Córdoba

    Here, Córdoba leather is worked and coloured into traditional patterns and images, most of them relating to the area’s Moorish history, although some are on religious themes and others pertain to local customs.

  • 3. Bodegas Mezquita, Córdoba

    This is an excellent place for finding local foodstuffs. Slow-cured hams, fine wines, olive oils and other delectables will tempt your palate.

  • 4. Baraka, Córdoba

    For good-quality souvenirs this is likely spot. Choose from ceramics, leather goods, glassware and other accessories, all handmade.

  • 5. Nucra, Córdoba

    For more contemporary silver jewellery, all designed by local artisans. Many creations start with traditional Córdovan ideas but branch out into stylish variations that better suit modern tastes.

  • 6. La Tienda del Olivo, Córdoba

    This shop specializes in products relating to the venerable olive. Olive oil here comes in every variety, from light ones for cooking, to rich rare pressings. Other olive products include skin creams and handmade soaps.

  • 7. Nuñez de Prado, Baena

    One of the premier olive oil factories in this historic town (see Baeza). Their production methods have not compromised with modernity, so their oil remains rich and flavourful.

  • 8. Galería de Vinos Caldos, Jaén

    One of the region’s best wine shops. Featured, of course, are regional wines, including those from Montilla.

  • 9. Flea Market, Jaén

    Thursday mornings see this street come to life with a catch-all market that can net you anything from pure junk to a rare treasure.

  • 10. Pottery Quarter, Úbeda

    Úbeda is famous for its dark green pottery, fired in wood kilns over olive stones. Its intricate pierced designs are Moorish-inspired and the workmanship superb.
