    This old-town disco attracts people of all ages. The music is a mix of 1980s feel-good, with some current hits thrown in.

  • 2. ZZ Pub, Málaga

    Mostly university students come to this modest establishment in the old part of town, to hear the two regular bands that play here on Mondays and Thursdays. A DJ fills in the quiet moments every night.

    Café Las Bridas offers imported brews, with live music on weekends from midnight. Café Pub Siete Locos is a good place to dance to the latest Spanish electro-pop.

  • 4. Nerja by Night

    Funky beats and House music make Narixa a popular place to party. Coconut, on the other hand, is more laid back and is where you’ll find the salsa crowd hanging out.

  • 5. Cádiz Pop

    The zone around the harbour is loaded with venues and Anfiteatro is one of the best. Open Friday and Saturday only.

  • 6. Cádiz Flamenco

    The flamenco clubs burst with life in Cádiz. Good bets include Peña La Perla and Peña Enrique el Mellizo.

  • 7. Flamenco in Jerez

    Here you will find genuine flamenco at its impassioned best. The gypsy quarter of Santiago is the place to make for, where you will find a number of peñas (clubs), but don’t expect much before 10pm.

  • 8. Tarifa Nights

    You don’t even have to leave the beach to check out the open-air Il Balneario. The floor is sand and the feel is tropical. In town, Tanakas can accommodate about 1,000 people.

  • 9. Gibraltar Nightlife

    More than 360 pubs here keep British hours (closing time 11pm). For devotees of later doings, Queensway Quay, Marina Bay and Casemates Square have a wide selection of bars, often with live entertainment.

    In addition to the bar scene, the Rock boasts the Ladbroke International Casino Club, which offers spectacular views over the bay and live entertainment.
