Berlin

Berlin is Germany’s liveliest city and one of the most fascinating capitals in the world. You’ll find no other place where art and culture, museums and theatres, entertainment and nightlife are more diverse and exciting than on the banks of the Spree River. Once reunited, Berlin quickly developed into a cosmopolitan city, and today there is an air of energy and vibrancy about it.

  • A small garden café at the Charlottenburg Palace.

  • The new Café Kranzler is very different from the historic café of pre-World War II fame, yet the views over Ku’damm are just as amazing.

  • Not far from the swimming baths, this café serves local fish dishes, as well as afternoon coffee and cakes.

  • Charming, richly ornamented Art-Nouveau café in a historic building, dating back more than 130 years. The summer terrace overlooks Grünau regatta course.

  • The (in)famous Café M Kneipe in Schöneberg is today even noisier than it used to be. If you find the rock music too loud, you can always escape to the tables outside.

  • Popular restaurant and bar on the Prenzlauer Berg hill.

  • This popular café serves authentic vegetarian Jewish food in the heart of the Scheunenviertel.

  • This gay and lesbian café, with traditional interior, has a relaxed atmosphere; the fruit flans are particularly worth trying.

  • Café Wintergarten im Literaturhaus

One of Berlin’s most beautiful cafés is based in the conservatory of an old town house. In summer guests can sit outside, in the Literaturhaus garden.

  • A true Berlin experience! This bar is a previous squat turned into cafe bar. Try the strawberry beer - it's definitely an aquired taste! The outside area is full of jugglers and entertainers and live bands. Beer is served from a caravan and latino singers often frequent the stage inside. Venture up to the top floor to see the art gallery. The entrance is free so well worth a visit if you're in the area!
