A super-popular venue, based in a former brothel, complete with chintz wallpaper. Apart from the delicious Caipirinhas, the cocktails are not particularly special.

European crafts from over five centuries are on display at this museum. Its most valuable exhibits are the treasure of the Guelphs from Braunschweig and the silver treasure of the town council in Lüneburg. The museum also holds valuable Italian tin-glazed earthenware, Renaissance faïence and German Baroque glass and ceramics. Popular displays show Neo-Classical porcelain and furniture, Jugendstil art and Tiffany vases, as well as 20th-century Art-Deco and modern designs.

A courtyard full of nooks and crannies, which is today occupied by a number of workshops, offices and cafés. Take a look at the richly ornamented staircases.

This shop offers art to touch and take home, including all sorts of paraphernalia (old costumes, for example), make ideal souvenirs.

Large-scale installations by the resident artists are regularly on display at the alternative gallery space – a recent example was an entire artificial reed garden. The courtyard also has a café in the conservatory.

Five centuries of prints and calligraphies, including works by Botticelli, Dürer, Rembrandt, Goya, Daumier and the Dutch Old Masters, are on display in this gallery.
