Berlin

Berlin is Germany’s liveliest city and one of the most fascinating capitals in the world. You’ll find no other place where art and culture, museums and theatres, entertainment and nightlife are more diverse and exciting than on the banks of the Spree River. Once reunited, Berlin quickly developed into a cosmopolitan city, and today there is an air of energy and vibrancy about it.

  • This very stylish hotel is in a central yet quiet downtown location on Ku’damm. It offers a luxurious, international ambience with a retro look reminiscent of the Bauhaus style. All rooms have state-of-the-art communications equipment.

  • A little bistro, serving all sorts of crêpes, such as sweet with jam or savoury with ham, ideal for a quick snack.

  • A more upmarket Italian venue in Nikolaiviertel, offering delicious pasta dishes, which can be enjoyed outside in summer, with a view of the Spree River.

  • This elegant underground bar offers cool drinks and piano music.

  • Berlin’s only Museum for Children is particularly suitable for children at the preschool stage and in the early school years. Three or four themed exhibitions each year deal with subjects in a child-friendly and entertaining way – for example “Snoops and Detectives”. Every exhibition is interactive, allowing children to join in and experiment, becoming independent through their experiences in play.

  • EASY TO GET TO ON THE U-BAHN S6, THERE IS SWIMMING,SUNBATHING AND OTHER WATER SPORTS. THERE IS ALSO AN AREA IF YOU DARE TO BARE.

  • This villa, near Schlachtensee and Krumme Lanke, now a small boarding house, oozes the charm of bygone days in rural Berlin. The furnishings in its 20 rooms are a little old-fashioned, but the service is very personable, making for a pleasant stay.

  • Built in 1845–50, this is Berlin’s oldest artificial waterway. The canal connects the Upper and the Lower Spree, running east to west through the western part of the centre. Take a boat trip along the canal and you will see some of Berlin’s most attractive bridges. At some places, it is possible to lie on the green banks of the canal in the middle of the city, for example at the Paul-Lincke-Ufer in Kreuzberg.

  • The sloping, grass-covered banks of Landwehrkanal are ideal spots to chill out.

  • For one night, entrance to many of Berlin’s museums is free. Many institutions also put on special events for that weekend, and the street artists and sellers entertain the public, who normally wait in long queues.
