  • Prestigious member of Berlin’s Blue-Band-Hotels, the Excelsior is characterized more by sober efficiency than by friendliness but hits the mark with moderate prices, excellent location and a vast range of business services.

  • Here, you’ll fancy yourself in Tuscany – the hotel’s stylish interior courtyard and bright, tastefully furnished rooms are an oasis of tranquillity in the bustle of the western half of the city. The international clientele is equally stylish. The hotel has its own restaurant, pool, sauna, massage and much more on offer, and there are shops right outside.

  • One of the only hotels in Berlin to be influenced by the Bauhaus, the Brandenburger Hof has free-swinging leather seats and ball-shaped lamps, forming an exciting contrast to the historic building.

  • Brandenburger Hof

An elegant town hotel, based in a 19th-century manor house. The lobby is traditionally furnished and the rooms are in a sobre Bauhaus-style. The Michelin-starred Quadriga restaurant specializes in French cuisine.

  • The slightly sterile and impersonal atmosphere of the Marriott is more than made up for by its perfect location. It is right in the centre of the southeastern district of Köpenick, on the banks of the Dahme River – and both Müggelsee and Schönefeld Airport are only a few minutes’ drive away by car or S-Bahn.

  • Part of an American hotel chain, the Crowne Plaza offers attentive service, tasteful rooms and all the creature comforts that business travellers expect, plus a central location, in the western part of the city.

  • If you prefer modern designs, this hotel is not for you – the rooms here are all classically styled. The Großer Kurfürst has successfully incorporated modern facilities into an historic building. It also features many useful extras, such as free public transport and bicycle hire.

  • A stylish hotel with classic decoration – oak-panelled walls and thick carpets and curtains adorn the rooms, which are arranged around an inner courtyard. Few hotels in town are better than this, and the service is very friendly.

  • This hotel, its name meaning “the factory”, is a guesthouse cum youth hostel. An alternative youth and arts centre in the middle of deepest Kreuzberg, it attracts backpackers from around the world, hoping to meet locals and others.

  • Relatively inexpensive and the smallest of the first-class hotels (70 rooms, 21 suites), the Dorint is probably also one of the most attractive, with excellent views of Gendarmenmarkt.
