    A super-popular venue, based in a former brothel, complete with chintz wallpaper. Apart from the delicious Caipirinhas, the cocktails are not particularly special.

  • 2. Yorkschlösschen

    A pub-restaurant with a great Old Berlin feel. Live jazz concerts at the weekend.

  • 3. Mister Hu

    The locals would like to keep this secret to themselves: Mister Hu serves some of the greatest cocktails in town (see Bars & Lounges) .

    Enjoy a snack surrounded by nautical artifacts on this old barge moored in Urbanhafen. In summer you can sit on the green banks to drink your beer.

    A Berlin classic, this 1970s retro bar is very popular and always packed. It serves some of the best cocktails in the city.

    Rising with the ebb and flow of popularity in the Berlin club scene, this discotheque is always popular thanks to its changing club nights and great house music.

    A popular pick-up venue for students, this classic beer garden on the Kreuzberg also attracts an older clientele, bopping to funk on the small dance floor.

    The “Economic Miracle” is a 1950s-revival venue, fitted with formica furniture and kidney-shaped tables.

    The drinks at the “Angel of Death” are not in fact, lethal, but bar and clientele are straight out of a Buñuel film.
