Charlie Rockets

Youth hotel in a converted cinema, fronted by a big, raucous café-bar serving nachos and burgers to the beat of rock. Basic rooms, but keenly priced – especially given the location, just to the east of the Burg.
Citadines

At Citadines, you can rent a studio or an apartment with kitchen and living areas. The flats are available for single nights, but are better value for longer stays. Reasonably priced and centrally located in the Place Sainte-Catherine area.
Comfort Art Hotel Siru

Each of the 101 rooms has been decorated by a different modern Belgian artist, to varying and unusual effect. Just south of the Gare du Nord, within easy walking distance of the city centre.
Conrad International

South-west of the “Pentagon” delineating the old city, the Conrad lies close to the prime shopping area around the Place Louise. A polished and comfortable modern hotel, it has huge bedrooms, and two respected restaurants.
Cour St-Georges/ Sint-Jorishof

This venerable old institution claims to be the oldest hotel in Europe, dating back as far as 1228. The rooms in the main building have the dingy quaintness of an old inn, but there is a more modern annexe.
De Castillion

Occupying a 17thcentury bishop's residence in the west of the city, this comfortable hotel has imaginatively decorated bedrooms and bathrooms. The high standard of the rooms is matched by the hotel’s sumptuous restaurant, Le Manoir Quatre Saisons.
De Orangerie

This delightful hotel occupies a converted 15th-century convent overlooking the canal; breakfast can be taken at the water’s edge. It is elegantly decorated in traditional style.
De Pauw

This pretty, family-run hotel, with its weathered brick exterior draped with flowers, is located close to the old parish church of St Giles, in the quiet and historic northern part of town – but still just a 10-minute walk from the centre. The interior is styled like a private home, with a welcome to match.
De Snippe

Part of the Relais & Châteaux organization, De Snippe is a stylishly decorated hotel located in a handsome old mansion. Its acclaimed restaurant (see De Snippe) overlooks a pretty garden.
