Museum of Contemporary Photography

This is the only museum in the American Midwest devoted exclusively to photography. It is free and located an easy walk from the Art Instittue of Chicago. There are usually 1-2 special exhibitions on at a time and the museum has a permanent collection as well.
Paris - Buenos Aires Tango Show

Five World-famous Argentine Tango couples from Buenos Aires from Brodway Show "Forever Tango", 24-carat voice Jose Luise Barretto and orchestra TANGUISIMO from Paris, France are in Chicago July 5, 2008 at 8:00 pm.

Tango is more than ever a true art of life, the essence of a nation, the soul of Argentina. Drawing from tango's tumultuous sources, "Paris-Buenos Aires" also has to devote itself to draw its presents portret and its future to glorify the most intimate feelings as the most violent.

Selected for their well known qualities as well as for their differences in style, Paris-Buenos Aires artists represent the tango in its largest range of forms.

They are taking you to a journey of discovery of traditional tango sensuality, the elegance of tango noble, the romanticism of tango waltz, the tango Canyengue games, the saucy figures of tango Milonga, the revolution of tango Nuevo... and of course its pure music and its poetry, inspired from its heart-rendering deepness.

The Signature Room at the John Hancock

Less touristy than some downtown destinations, the Signature Room at 95th floor of the John Hancock (currently the second tallest building in Chicago), still offers an exciting, new experience for many out-of-towners and even for those who have lived in the city their entire lives. The complete views of the city from all sides, top shelf drinks and service, and elegant food are all worth the 'luxurious' cost!
White Fence Farm

This is food on a farm - pet the animals, ride on the miniature train display, plenty of kids rides and a nice place to take a walk. Not justa place for the kids - see the antique car museum and collections of antique dolls. one of the attractions inside with the food is the 10 uniquely decorated dining rooms. Food is mainly chicken (which is gorgeous) but they also do fish and other meats. Chicken is their speciallity and it would be a place to try it out. I went at Christmas and it was full of the most amzing Christmas lights - worth the journey out from Chicago by itself!
