  • 1. Terra Mítica

    The biggest, most exciting theme park on the Costa Blanca, Terra Mítica has everything from thrilling rollercoasters to huge waterslides. Each section is dedicated to one of the great Mediterranean civilizations, including the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians and Iberians.

  • 2. Cuevas de Canalobre

    One of the biggest attractions on the Costa Blanca, this vast cavern, theatrically lit, gets its name from an amazing limestone outcrop in the form of a candelabra. Concerts are regularly held here in summer.

  • 3. Aquopolis, Torrevieja

    This big, fun water-park has everything to keep the kids happy, from waterslides of all heights and shapes to wave pools and assorted swimming pools. There are special areas for toddlers, and plenty of snack bars and ice-cream shops.

  • 4. Mundomar, Benidorm

    At this huge marine park, you can admire the flamingoes, penguins and turtles, or enter a spooky bat cave. Dolphins, sea lions and parrots perform spectacular shows. Other attractions include racoons and prairie dogs, and there’s a special section for very young kids.

  • 5. Safari Aitana, Penáguila

    Tucked away in the Aitana Mountains, this safari park has lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants and an aviary with huge birds of prey. There is a small petting zoo for smaller children, a restaurant, and a swimming pool to cool off in.

  • 6. Safari Park Vergel, Vergel (Verger)

    Drive past lions, tigers, wolves and leopards at this safari park, where the animals roam freely. There are shows with parrots, seals and dolphins, and a petting area with goats, pigs and ponies.

  • 7. Mundo Marino

    One of the best ways to admire the stunning coastline is to take a ride in a glass-bottomed boat. This service offers full-day trips (including beach barbecue) from Denia (Dénia), Xàbia (Jávea), Calp (Calpe) and Altea.

  • 8. Pola Park, Santa Pola

    This brightly coloured fun-park on the edge of Santa Pola has over 50 attractions, including carousels, pirate boats and all kinds of rides.

  • 9. El Arca, Benimantell

    Also known as “Noah’s Ark”, this wonderful wildlife sanctuary close to Guadalest is dedicated to the care of sick, abandoned and mistreated animals. The animals live in compounds designed to resemble their natural habitats, and their stories are outlined on special panels.

  • 10. Karting La Cala

    Kids (seven and over) will get a kick out of this racetrack, one of the best karting circuits in Europe. The eight-minute slots are designed to test skill, speed and endurance.
