  • This huge venue is out of the tourist area but is worth the taxi fare. The music is a mix of European and Greek chart hits, with a choice of dancing spaces.

  • You can’t miss Rainbow, which flaunts its neon sign above Pafos’s “nightlife street”, Agiou Antoniou. It’s the resort’s longest established nightspot, with a musical menu that rivals anything in Agia Napa or even Ibiza, and guest DJs from the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

  • A spot for real night owls, the Red Cube’s doors don’t even open until midnight and the joint then jumps until 4:30am on summer nights. Its DJs play soul, R&B and garage to a mixed audience of holidaymakers.

  • The last place to close in Agia Napa, the River Reggae Club stays open until 7am. Take a pre-dawn swim in the pool before watching the sun rise.

  • The Roadhouse does its best to recreate an English pub, with roast dinners on Sundays, a garden bar and live music most week nights.

  • This British-owned music pub is another nostalgia trip for the pretechno set, with a parade of 1960s and 1970s hits. There’s also a pop quiz every night in summer.

  • A guest list of imported DJs spin a mix of sounds from garage and trance to R&B.

  • This massive Irish pub on four floors has sports screenings on satellite TV, snooker, darts, nightly karaoke, and, of course, Guinness and other Irish beers on tap.

  • This Aussie-run pub offers the cheapest beer in Agia Napa. A stone’s throw from Kryo Nero beach, it’s a great place to chill during the heat of the afternoon, and gets lively after sundown.

  • The Basement, Limassol

Georgiou 1 (marked on some maps as Georgiou A due to the Greek numbering system) is Limassol’s prime party hotspot, with dozens of clubs, pubs and cabarets. This tiny place is usually jammed with young locals and visitors; the music is mainstream pop and rock.
