  • A colossal Fred Flintstone effigy towers over this loud caveman-themed bar, with karaoke every summer evening. Not for the faint-hearted or style conscious.

  • The largest nightlife complex in the Larnaka area has room for up to 2,000 people. Its beach restaurant and bar are open during the day; it hosts karaoke nights; imports live acts from the UK; and is one of the few nightspots in Cyprus to have gay nights (weekends after 11pm).

  • Come here for an evening of garage and R&B in this lively, friendly club that is a well-established favourite.

  • This slightly retro expatriate hangout tries its best to recreate an authentic English pub, with a choice of keg and bottled beers, live sports TV and middle-of-the-road live bands. Open daytime and evenings.

  • The Half Note hosts the occasional live band but its main stock-in-trade is Latin music. It attracts a dedicated local crowd every Friday and Saturday night – turn up early to be sure of getting in.

  • The Hippodrome plays all the latest summer anthems imported from the UK, has a dazzling light show, and a friendly, laid-back vibe.

  • A long-standing British favourite with a “buy one, get one free” happy hour from 6:30–9:30pm. Beer and stout on tap, big-screen TV, and it welcomes families with kids.

  • The Robin Hood, Pafos

This cheerfully kitsch pub with its medieval castle-style theme has a choice of cold beers on tap.

  • More decorous and family-orientated than some of its rivals, this pleasant pub-restaurant serves substantial meals.

  • Woody’z, Pafos

Cheerful and busy every night, Woody’z attracts a young party crowd with cocktails and some top international music.
