  • Two government-run stores specialize in island crafts such as Lefkara lace.

  • The place to find old wind-up gramophones and musical instruments.

  • Panagia’s Souvenir Market, Geroskipou

You can’t miss Panagia Athinodorou’s colourful shop on the north side of the central square, with its array of bright-painted pottery, colourful tsestos (bread trays) and cane baskets.

  • Specializing in colourful mosaics, both copies of famous ancient works and modern originals. They can arrange for larger items to be shipped to home.

  • Children will love the hand-made dolls here, some of which are dressed in traditional costumes.

  • More a glorified junk shop than an antiques store, Steptoe’s is worth foraging through for treasures to take home. The stock changes constantly, though judging by the patina of age on some items they may have languished unsold for years.

  • The English owner searches out antique furniture and other collectables from all over Cyprus.

  • A great place to find antique ceramics, earthenware pottery, brass lamps and old photographs. Just outside central Limassol, at Kato Polemidia.

  • For local souvenirs, look no further than this tourist-orientated store.
