Cyprus

Cyprus packs a remarkable array of sights and attractions into such a small space: museums and archaeological sites that span more than five millennia of history, throbbing beach resorts, medieval fortresses, age-old temples standing on empty hillsides, cool mountain forests and pretty valleys chequered with vineyards, grain fields and olive groves all complete the landscape. On an island where one can swim and ski all in the same day, this is truly a holiday paradise with something for everyone.

  • The Colony Hotel is an undiscovered gem in a beautiful, peaceful part of Northern Cyprus. It's luxurious and the service is impeccable, but you aren't required to dress or behave formally in the way you might in similar quality hotels elsewhere. The real bonus is that because Northern Cyprus is still up and coming the cost of the holiday and this hotel was comparitively cheap. If this hotel was in another European country they'd charge you a fortune!

  • Aphrodites Rock

Legendary birthplace of Aphrodite - goddess of love. Legend has it if you swim round it 6 times one way you get eternal life and 6 times the opther way you will be very fertile. Porblem is noone is sure which way is which !!!

  • Aphrodites Rock, paphos

One of the most stunning parts of the Cypriot coastline, also the birth place of Aphrodite. Legend has it that this is where the Goddess of Love emerged from the sea, and everywhere she stepped between here and Paphos itself, sprang life, and that's why Paphos district is so fertile. It lies just east of Paphos.

  • This is a luxury hotel without the pomp and circumstance that makes you whisper. It has everything that the modern traveller could want including a rooftop pool and the most romantic rooftop restaurant where you can overlook the lights of Kyrenia and the surrounding areas, watch a spectacular sunset whilst being served impeccable food and drink by the politest and frindliest of waiters and all at Nothern Cypriot prices - a real bargain.

  • Cynthiana Beach Hotel

A little piece of paradise wedged between sea and sky, perched on a panoramic headland that could be the edge of the world. An extraordinary setting for an extraordinary hotel. And the Cynthiana is extraordinary. Situated in possibly the most unique and beautiful spot in the region, ...morethe hotel is within easy reach of bustling Kato Pafos and some of the most fascinating ruins and archeological sites on the island.

  • MacKenzie beach restaurant (Next to sandcastle hotel) with patio area right on the waterfront. Go off season for the a relaxing lunch on the comfortable sofas, or in high season for a funky evening meal.

  • Polis (or Polis Chrysochous) is a small, friendly, little town at the north-west end of the island of Cyprus, at the centre of Chrysochous Bay, and on the edge of the Akamas peninsula nature reserve. It is a quiet tourist resort, surrounded by a patchwork of citrus and olive groves, and vineyards. The inhabitants' income being supplemented by agriculture and fishing.

Polis is served by the fishing port of Latsi—a pole of attraction all the year round and reputed for its fish taverns, its sea-sport facilities and boat rides up to Akamas—a must for all Polis visitors. However, the great advantage of Polis is its close vicinity to the utmost beautiful Akamas peninsula, a nature reserve area destined to become a National Park, with its renowned Baths of Aphrodite. Α walk along its nature trails accompanied by the panoramic view of the bay of Polis is a unique experience.

  • The Olympians Latcji Beach Villas

These villas are set in their own grounds just 5 min drive from Latchi. Having used the villas for the last 4 years I have found them ideal. The villas are equipped with TV, Washing Machine, Fridge, Dish Washer, 2 Ring Hot Plate, Oven, Toaster, Kettle & a full compliment of crockery, utensil's & pans. All Villas have private parking & gardens. The main asset is the private pool with each villa, giving a relaxing time. The Beach is only 30 secs away from the furthest villa, so you are spoilt for choice. Eating out in Latchi is easy with the town just 5 mins away. The restaurants mostly serve fresh fish & the traditional Cypriot dishes. There is the coastal path you could use before dusk but not advisable after dark! Shopping in Latchi is not expensive for daily needs. The owners are friendly & welcoming but not overbearing. They have a 24hr contact to deal with any out of hours problems.

In all a truly relaxing location, ideal for couples & families.
