  • Billed as an “art café”, 1900 takes its name and design inspiration from the building in which it is housed – a town-house that dates from the turn of the 19th century. The music is a mix of classical, jazz and easy-listening rock, and the emphasis is on good coffee and wine.

  • Taverna -eating at its best, in an old village house with a terrace draped with vines. A good choice of charcoal-grilled dishes, meze and local wines.

  • Sit outdoors and watch the world of Agia Napa’s harbour go by at this stylish café in the pedestrianized area by the port. Open day and night, Aragma serves coffee, bottled beers, soft drinks and cocktails, as well as a choice of sandwiches and snacks.

  • Express Café, Agia Napa

The largest and best of an array of cafés on Agia Napa’s main drag, Express is a popular, family-friendly place. It serves an extensive menu of snacks, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.

  • One of a chain of Internet cafés, Intencity is also noisy with the sound of gaming machines.

  • Reservations are compulsory at Larnaca’s smartest restaurant. The menu is French, and so is the ambience within this stylish old mansion with high ceilings and restrained decor. The ideal venue for a romantic holiday dinner.

  • Booking is essential at Agia Napa’s most traditional taverna . The best dishes come from the charcoal grill: pork, lamb, steak, lobster and fresh fish.

  • Everything from pizza to steak and chips, as well as Cypriot favourites and a reasonable selection for vegetarians.

  • The best tables here are on the seaside terrace, which juts out into the water. Monte Carlo’s meze is among the most generous, and their moussaka also comes highly recommended.

  • Palazzo Bianco’s pizza and pasta will set you up for a heavy night’s partying.
