  • 1. Carwash, Agia Napa

Unlike many of its rivals on the Agia Napa nightlife scene, Carwash stays open all year round. It also sticks to a policy of playing only dance music from the 1970s and 1980s.

  • 2. Black and White, Agia Napa

Favouring classic soul and R&B, this small, crowded club is another Agia Napa institution.

  • 3. Castle, Agia Napa

A huge club with three indoor rooms and a large dance floor outside, with music played by top international DJs.

  • 4. Club Ice, Agia Napa

Famed for its R&B nights in the summer, which feature bigname DJs from the UK and elsewhere, this is one of the hottest places in Cyprus for R&B and garage music. An added attraction are the foam and popcorn parties.

  • 5. River Reggae Club, Agia Napa

The last place to close in Agia Napa, the River Reggae Club stays open until 7am. Take a pre-dawn swim in the pool before watching the sun rise.

  • 6. Insomnia, Agia Napa

Just when everywhere else is thinking about closing – around 4am – Insomnia opens, and plays garage music until sunrise.

  • 7. Circus, Larnaka

Larnaka’s nightlife is less Brit-oriented than Agia Napa’s and Circus is no exception. With a strong local audience, its music embraces Greek pop and rock as well as mainstream dance.

  • 8. Corridor, Larnaka

A local favourite, stylish Corridor closes for the summer, then re-opens in late September for a 20- to 30-something crowd.

  • 9. The Edge, Larnaka

The largest nightlife complex in the Larnaka area has room for up to 2,000 people. Its beach restaurant and bar are open during the day; it hosts karaoke nights; imports live acts from the UK; and is one of the few nightspots in Cyprus to have gay nights (weekends after 11pm).

  • 10. Encounters, Larnaka

Formerly Memphis, this redesigned venue houses two clubs: Topaz with progressive, funky house music, and Deep, where the sounds are more mainstream R&B plus Greek hits.
