A beach bar and a disco, Bambú gets extremely lively after midnight.

A hot nightspot with great music, and dancing that goes on into the early hours. There is a “Foam Party” on Saturday nights.

This bistro and bar is a fun venue for beach parties. The bar has a Chinese-style low table, and guests sit on straw matting laid on the sand.

4. Crazy Moon
One of the better hotel discos, the music changes from steamy tropical rhythms to hiphop to techno. There’s something for everybody (see Crazy Moon, Puerto Plata).

5. Voodoo Lounge
A civilized cocktail bar with a dance floor near the beach. You can enjoy a drink and chat without too much noise both inside and outside.

6. D’Latino’s Club
A small disco and bar that charges an entry fee if there’s a special event or a visiting DJ is playing.

7. D’Classico
One of the leading night spots in Sosúa, drawing crowds from all over the North Coast, especially unattached males. DJ Pablo Vivax plays a mix of Latin and international music. At weekends, it’s mainly Dominican music (see D’Classico, Sosúa).

8. High Caribbean
This popular disco was renovated in 2004. Unusually, it has small indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a terrace.

9. Las Brisas
One of the most sought after night spots, Brisas hosts beach volley ball tournaments on Thursday nights (see Las Brisas, Cabarete).

10. José Oshay’s Irish Beach Pub
A popular beachfront bar that features live acoustic guitar and drum kit performances by Russell, who has an endless repertoire of songs and will also play requests (see José Oshay’s Irish Beach Pub, Cabarete).
