Sully, Santo Domingo

A good place for all seafood-lovers, with generous portions of fish, prawns, and other delicacies. Seafood chowder is recommended. The catch of the day is also good and everything is absolutely fresh.
Taboo Bamboo

Try the vodka-based Absolut Tambo Bamboo cocktail, as a change from rum. They also host music festivals and live music shows.
Tropical Lodge

This seaside hotel run by Philippe and Brigitte has a good restaurant and the best pizzas in Samaná.
Veggies

One of the few vegetarian restaurants in the country, with recipes from Mexico, India, the Arab world, and the Far East. Pretty decor with Afro-Taíno designs, and multi-level seating.
Vesuvio, Santo Domingo

Opened in 1954, this remains one of the best places to go for an elegant meal. The cuisine is mostly Italian, with delicious seafood and pasta, complemented by dishes from around the Caribbean.
