Dubai & Abu Dhabi

The Arabian emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the most rich and powerful of the seven city-states that make up the United Arab Emirates, offer the best of East and West – Arab culture, Bedouin heritage and Islamic architecture, alongside excellent shopping, sophisticated dining and luxurious hotels. Dubai is divided by its bustling Creek and skirted with white sand beaches, while Abu Dhabi is situated on a splendid Corniche.

The iconic Burj al Arab To enjoy the highlights at a more relaxed pace, spend a few days in Dubai, a day or two in Abu Dhabi and a day in the desert.
  • Al Hadheerah Desert Restaurant

Part of the Jumeirah Bab Al Shams Resort set out in the desert, this restaurant is a DON'T MISS. It offers a fabulous traditional Arabic buffet feast with multi cooking stations along with lively entertainment in the way of a horse show on the dunes, belly dancing, henna tattoo artists, twirling dervishes, and live Arabic music. In between courses you can wander through the displays of Arabic pottery, carpets, spice souks, fish souks, and falconry. The set price includes a camel caravan ride through the dunes, best enjoyed at sunset.

  • At the hotel there is a fantastic aquarium called The Lost Chambers. There is an entrance fee for this attraction.

For those on a budget, ignore the ticket booth and just walk a few metres around the corner where you will see enormous, FREE viewing windows.

Many varieties of fish, sharks and rays are on display and you can see them being fed by scuba divers at certain times of the day.

  • Within 42 acres of lush tropical landscape lies AQUAVENTURE.

Towering above the waters, the Mesopotamian styled Ziggurat features 7 heart-pumping water slides including 2 which take our guests on a journey through Shark Lagoon.

Only those daring and adventurous enough will take on The Leap of Faith..27.5-metres tall, this slide plunges the brave 61-metres along an almost vertical drop through the Shark Lagoon.

Shark Attack takes guests into the depths of the mysterious Ziggurat before emerging beneath the surface of Shark Lagoon.

For families with younger children, AQUAVENTURE is home to Splashers, the largest family interactive play-structure in the region. 10 slides, 2 dumping buckets, rope bridges, water jets, cannons and climbing frames will keep our younger guests excited and amused all day.

  • Burj Al Arab

This iconic, attention-grabbing “seven-star” hotel is certainly a sight that everyone shouldn't miss

  • Dubai Desert Dancer

Magnificent belly dancers at the Dubai Desert camp being one of the alluring attractions of Dubai.

  • Indulgent Afternoon Tea at Burj Al Arab

For the majority of us, staying at the Burj Al Arab is a dream only. However an excellent way of getting to see the incredible rather opulent interior is by taking afternoon tea in the Sky View bar. For around £80 per person (sorry no typos in that figure) you do get a wonderful 7 course tea with of course 7 star service from all the staff.

Included is a glass of Moet & Chandon, and as much tea, coffee, sandwiches, petit fours, fresh fruit, home made scones, pastries etc that you can drink/eat.

What you are really paying for as well as the wonderful food is the ambience of the place, the superior service and of course that wonderful view from the Sky View Bar.

You only live once so my advice is next time in Dubai.... try!!!

  • Great Location, close to main attractions, beautiful hotel, 5 star luxury at a very affordable price! The best hotel I have ever stayed in! A must stay in Dubai.

  • A truly awesome selection of shops in ABu Dhabi plus a gorgeous view of the corniche and the EMirates Palace hotel

  • Excellent medium size hotel with a Sports Bar and several restaurants. The Sports Bar is extremely good, serves nice food and frequented by expats. Good service, friendly staff, reasonable prices, comfortable atmosphere.
