Avoca Café Powerscourt

A simply decorated café serving the Avoca kitchens’ well-tested fare. Spread over a number of large rooms, the acoustics can be a bit wearing when it’s full. Wonderful views from the terrace (see Powerscourt Estate).
Brasserie Na Mara

A very special restaurant in what used to be the Customs Hall. Lots of space and light with high ceilings and attractive decor. The seafood menu is delicious.
Café Mao’s

The same idea as the original restaurant in Chatham Row (see MAO); the space here is bigger and airier – very much suited to the style of the food.
Cavistons

This small, smart restaurant has a reputation for producing mouth-watering fish dishes. It is only open for lunch but has three sittings, so the last can run into an early supper.
Hungry Monk

A slightly quirky but high-quality restaurant, specializing in game and fish. A new wine bar on the ground floor is an excellent addition to the village.
King Sitric

Right at the end of Howth’s harbourfront is this respected restaurant. The freshest seafood is on offer in comfortable surroundings. Good views from the first floor. Reservations essential.
Kish

This purpose-built restaurant beside an apartment development is elegant but informal and the food is outstanding. Good-value lunch menu.
Oscar Taylor’s

Situated on the Portmarnock coast road, this restaurant offers good food, and fabulous views of Lambay Island and the Malahide Estuary.
Poppies

Cheap and cheerful cottage-style restaurant that looks and feels like an English tearoom. Generous portions of reliable home cooking.
