Hong Kong

“A dream of Manhattan, arising from the South China Sea.” For succinctness, modern travel writer Pico Iyer’s description of Hong Kong has yet to be bettered. From opium port to Cold War enclave to frenetic financial capital, Hong Kong has never been boring. This is the hedonistic engine room of cultural fusion: East meets West in high style, and the results astonish and delight. Prepare to experience one of the most dramatic urban environments ever conceived.

  • Heichinrou runs a chain of Chinese Restaurants dotted across Hong Kong serving Cantonese cuisine. The food and service experienced so far are of excellent quality. They serve delicately prepared & presented Dim Sum.

  • Fascinating insight into Hong Kong's history and cultural heritage. Opened in 2000, it even has a replica of a village within the New Territories

    A definite must

  • Hong Kong Museum of Art

The mission of the Hong Kong Museum of Art is to preserve the cultural heritage of China and promote art with a local focus. Once a neglected museum, several curators have recently breathed new life into the gallery with a series of exhibitions. The museum houses over 15,000 art objects: including Chinese paintings and calligraphy works, antique Chinese treasures and paintings of historical significance, as well as creations by local artists, making it the ideal place to explore Chinese culture and heritage.

  • An excellent wildlife reserve with visitors centre with interactive displays to help you appreciate our environment. There are walks around streams and beside lakes with bird hides overlooking the surrounding wetlands. A play area makes it fun for children and it is educational for all the family.

  • The jade market in Yau Ma Tei offers a really interesting shopping experience. Look around this small but well stocked market and you'll find a whole host of treasures - most of them made from jade. We followed a walk that took in Kowloon's bird, flower, goldfish and ladies' markets, which was fascinating. Be sure to check the opening times of each market though, as they all vary.

  • There is a concentration of interesting restaurants and hang outs around Knutsford Terrace offering a wide variety of cuisine. Definitely a great place to meet up after work, for dinner, or drinks!

  • A fabulous 5 star hotel with excellent service and great views of the Hong Kong skyline. As it is on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong it is a veritable bargain for a 5 star experience.

  • The people of Taiwan love food so much they have perfected little eats (tasty snacks served in small portions) the bes place to get these is the night markets which are held all over the island. At Shilin the biggist and best night market you can try amongst others a shilin sausage served with raw garlic and eaten with a coctail stick, oyster omelettes in red sauce. or addictive pork stewed and served with rice or if you are adventurous try animal guts simmered in broth and eaten cold eat this and you are sure to win the respect of the locals sitting beside you. Shilin market is open every day and dishes cost about under $2 each.

  • Metropark Hotel Wanchai

The 4-Star Metropark Hotel Wanchai is Superbly located in the heart of Wanchai, one Hong Kong’s most popular shopping and business hub, making Metropark Hotel Wanchai an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel is easily accessible to all major landmarks and transportation

  • Quaint restaurant decorated in colonial style, a reminder of Hong Kong's past. The dining room is very intimate, but you should come here for the outdoor gardens. The tables outside have a nice view of Lamma Island and the South of Hong Kong offers a different perspective on the fast-paced city. The food here is quite good, with both pan-Asian and European cuisines.
