Las Vegas

The Entertainment Capital of the World offers just about everything: the world’s largest hotels; the brightest stars in show business; shops and restaurants that rival any on earth. It’s true, too, that the lights are brighter in Las Vegas. Yet you don’t have to go far from the glamour and glitter to find the natural beauty of lakes and the desert as well.

  • Romano’s Macaroni Grill

Bruschetta with a selection of toppings, fried mozzarella cheese, Italian panini sandwiches, and mouth-watering pasta.

  • Rosemary’s

An extensive menu features the likes of rosemary roasted lamb with black olive mashed potatoes and grilled wild king salmon on a granny smith apple cabbage slaw with candied walnuts. Scrumptious desserts, include lemon ice-box pie with raspberry sorbet. The paintings on the walls are by local artists and are for sale.

  • The course features holes inspired by famous holes on the Open courses in Great Britain. All the golf carts are equipped with GPS (Global Positioning Systems).

  • rumjungle

Converts from restaurant to nightclub at 11pm Thursdays through Saturdays. Live bands are accompanied by dancers and gymnasts.

  • Sagebrush

The Nevada state flower is found up to 10,000 ft (3,000 m) above sea level and grows as tall as seven feet (2 m). The dense clusters of tiny yellow or cream flowers bloom in late summer.

  • Surely the closest one gets to being launched into outer space without actually doing it. The “slingshot” electronic technology launches passengers on “Speed,” the aptly named roller coaster. A 360-degree loop and a vertical climb of a 225-ft (68-m) tower (both forward and backward) add to the excitement – and it’s all over in 48 seconds.

  • The stadium hosts some of the biggest entertainment and sporting events in the country. Built in 1971, the seating capacity has been increased over the years: 40,000 spectators can now be accommodated.

  • Connoisseurs swear that the 99-cent margaritas, with just the right amount of salt rimming the chilled glass, are as good as any you can find elsewhere at many times the price.

  • Casino memorabilia and the largest array of antiques in Las Vegas.

  • One of the largest non-Strip casinos with more than 3,300 slots, video poker, and keno machines.
