  • Star Trek: The Experience

This innovative simulation plunges participants into the 24th century. Having assumed the identity of a Starfleet or alien crew member, they go speeding across the galaxies, encountering the enemy along the way. Hungry space travelers can dine on 24th-century cuisine at Quark’s Bar and Restaurant.

  • From 11pm to 7am Binion’s coffee shop serves a full New York steak dinner for $4.99. The line of diners begins forming at 10:15pm.

  • Wonderful at sunset, when the hills and houses are bathed in a gold light (see Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas).

  • The Little White Chapel

This chapel represents what for many people is the epitome of Las Vegas; it has acquired a reputation for hosting rather unusual weddings. It was here in the spring of 2001 that a mass wedding took place, officiated by multiple Elvises. For the bride and groom who are acting on mad impulse or whose hectic lives leave them only a few minutes to spare, the Little White Chapel offers the world’s only Drive-Up Wedding Window. The window never closes, and no appointment is necessary.

  • Recently redone in a style mirroring the glory that was Rome, the spa incorporates Roman baths and other touches of imperial luxury. In addition to the myriad treatments on offer for both men and women, there are weight-training facilities, a fitness center with climbing wall, and a yoga studio.

  • Either of the ships makes a delightful backdrop for your photos, or take a shot of the ships and village.

  • A great vantage point for photographing the Strip.

  • The downtown trolley makes a regular circuit of Fremont, Ogden, and Steward streets daily from 9:30am–1am. The fare is just $1.50 for adults.

  • Have someone in another gondola take the photo so you can be in it, too (see Grand Canal).

  • Don’t let the humble, rustic interior cramp your style: the chapel has a selection of fancy costumes at your disposal, covering such themes as Egyptian, Beach Party, Victorian, Gangster, Western, and even Intergalactic.
