From 11pm to 7am Binion’s coffee shop serves a full New York steak dinner for $4.99. The line of diners begins forming at 10:15pm.

  • 7. Breakfast at Binion’s Horseshoe

Two 24-hour-a-day breakfast specials are available at Binion’s coffee shop for $5.95. One includes ham and hash browns; the other, pancakes. But wait: from 6 to 11am the club’s snack bar sells scrambled eggs, sausage, and gravy for $2.75.

  • 8. Golden Gate Hotdogs

All-beef frankfurters piled high with sauerkraut are served from a vendor cart in the casino’s sports book (the lounge where people bet on sporting events). The hotdogs cost 75 cents.

The penny slot machines of the early casinos have disappeared from all but a few places such as the Four Queens – you’re more likely to spend 45 or even 90 cents with every pull.

The downtown trolley makes a regular circuit of Fremont, Ogden, and Steward streets daily from 9:30am–1am. The fare is just $1.50 for adults.
