the grand canyon
-
we went to the west rim of the canyon by coach, which we had boarded at las vegas, and it was an amazing journey. We passed joshua trees and spotted the odd coyote. We also saw lake mead and the hoover dam. on the latter part of the journey, we travelled a while on a bumpy dirt road! On arrival we boarded a helicopter which took us to the base of the canyon. wow! as we flew over the edge of the canyon, it felt as though we were jumping off a cliff!
At the base we got a short boat ride along the river before being flown back upo the rim. i don't know which was the most scary, flying up or down!
we had a delicious lunch prepared by native american indians. we sat and ate this by the edge of the canyon. the scenery was stunning, with the sun's rays flickering on the rock face and the colours continually changing. i have been to many places but this was breathtaking.
we made our way back to las vegas after a memorable day and i would love to do this all over again one day!
