  • 1. Hollywood Theater and Garden Arena

    Headliners such as comedians Rodney Dangerfield and George Carlin, and music groups such as The Monkees, regularly appear at the 630-seat Hollywood Theater. MGM’s larger 15,200-seat special-events center, the Garden Arena, is used for superstar concerts, major sporting events, and other spectaculars. It was the setting for the much-publicized Barbra Streisand Millennium Concert on New Year’s Eve 1999, for which tickets cost as much as $2,500.

  • 2. Mandalay Bay Events Center

    Luciano Pavarotti inaugurated the 12,000-seat events center in 1999. Since then, performers as diverse as tenor Andrea Bocelli (with the Russian Symphony Orchestra), Ricky Martin, and Bette Midler have graced its stage. During one month in particular, the Mandalay Bay Center was exceptionally eclectic, staging as it did a heavyweight bout between Evander Holyfield and John Ruiz, skater Katarina Witt’s Kisses on Ice show, and Bocelli’s vocal performance.

  • 3. Theater for the Performing Arts

    Since the new Aladdin Hotel opened in the summer of 2000, its theater has been the venue for such productions as Forever Swing , the Broadway musical Fosse , and Les Misérables , as well as a concert by British musical star Sarah Brightman.

  • 4. Sam Boyd Stadium

    The stadium hosts some of the biggest entertainment and sporting events in the country. Built in 1971, the seating capacity has been increased over the years: 40,000 spectators can now be accommodated.

  • 5. Judy Bayley Theater

    In addition to possessing excellent acoustics and comfortable seats, the Judy Bayley Theater features a special stage of flexible design. Primarily used for ballet, musical comedy, and dramatic productions, the theater also serves as home to the Nevada Dance Theater.

  • 6. Artemis Ham Concert Hall

    Across the courtyard from the Judy Bayley Theater, the Artemis Ham Concert Hall is an elegant building that serves as the venue for performances of both nationally and internationally acclaimed musicians and dancers. Violinist Itzak Perlman and the Bolshoi Ballet are among the star names that have appeared here.

  • 7. Thomas & Mack Center

    Named for two leading bankers who financed the project, Thomas & Mack’s gala grand opening in 1983 was nothing if not star-studded, featuring as it did Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Diana Ross. The center serves as the venue for rodeos, university basketball games, circuses, world championship boxing matches, and concerts. The record box-office takings for a single event were more than $6 million for the Holyfield vs Bowe heavyweight boxing bout in 1992; the record attendance for a single concert was 17,664.

  • 8. Orleans Showroom

    The 800-seat theater presents several headliners each month. The list of past performers is a veritable “who’s who” of the entertainment world: Jerry Lewis; Willie Nelson; Peter, Paul, and Mary; Roy Clark; the Righteous Brothers; and Crystal Gayle, to name but a few.

  • 9. Le Théâtre des Arts

    The Parisian-style theater only opened in 1999, but in its short life has already played host to a some big names, including Dennis Miller, Bobby Vinton, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and the Moody Blues.

  • 10. Clark County Amphitheater

    This outdoor amphitheater is the setting for a popular and eclectic range of free public entertainment, from “Jazz in the Park” and moonlight concerts to folk festivals and barbershop quartets. The amphitheater’s “brown-bag” lunches attract workers from nearby office buildings, Las Vegas residents, and visitors alike.
