The Apple Store of casual restaurants, as I always call it - minimalist decor and orders taken on PDAs are par for the course here. Those who can't tell their udon apart from their katsu, fear not - menus do a good job of explaining all the culinary terminology for the uninitiated. The food itself is always affordable, tastes great, and if you're getting one of the ramen bowls (Wagamama's staple), huge portions. I've since had much better ramen from my time in Vancouver (perhaps unsurprising) but when I've been in London with friends this has been the go-to place for a pre-movie/concert meal. On a sidenote - they sell some pretty nice t-shirts among their merchandise, but as Japanese-speaking friends have told me 'Wagamama' does not mean 'healthy living' as the restaurant would have you believe, but 'selfish or spoiled individual'! The vast majority of people aren't going to know one way or the other, but if you get one you may want to leave it home if you're planning a trip to Tokyo lest you get some odd stares.
