Los Angeles

The myth, the velocity, the edginess in creative and technological fields – this is Los Angeles, where the multicultural future that awaits the rest of the country is already a firm reality. In little more than 200 years, LA has grown from a dusty Spanish outpost into one of the world’s largest and most complex cities offering top venues for everything from archaeology and the arts to food. The birthplace of Mickey Mouse and Hollywood, LA has shaped the imaginations of millions.

  • There are some wonderful hotels and shopping in the newly gentrified East Los Angeles. Ethic markets, great inexpensive restaurants abound. The beautiful Griffith's Park is nearby for the nature lovers. Don't miss it!

  • Big Bear lake and mountain resort is an absolutely fantastic way to spend a day or two. About 2 hours out of downtown LA and only needing to change roads twice its very easy to get to. In winter Big Bear is one of the worlds premier ski resorts offering two mountains on one lift pass. In summer you can hire a boat and spend the day on the lake. Either way Big Bear is perfect if you want a relaxing day break from the hustle of LA itself. When i went, we got up early, headed up to the moutains (Worth noting, if you leave before sunrise or come back at sunset you can get stunning views of the sunrise/set over the whole of Los Angeles) i spent a day snowboarding in fresh snow, then i headed back and had dinner on venice beach, very surreal day!

  • it's really pretty and fun to sail there on your own sailboat, or hire one out for the weekend, with a captain and all aboard!

  • The Fred Segal Mauro Café has been a staple for fresh, authentic Italian food, for years. Celebrities are a must, no matter what time of the day you visit. Mostly, it’s all about the great food. Whether you like pastas, risottos, fresh Bruschetta or anything Italian, Mauro’s delivers quality and high standards.

  • For those of who cannot regularly afford the plane fare back to Lima, there is an option in Los Angeles that offers some of the best Peruvian food outside the homeland. The most popular dish, Lomo Saltado, is made with such perfection here, that will rival the best places in Lima.
