  • Pearls of every size, shape, and color set in rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces are the specialties of Maui Divers.

  • Located in the middle of a pineapple plantation, the produce doesn’t get any fresher than this. And your purchases can be packed up ready for transport home.

  • Young women – and others lucky enough to be able to squeeze into “smallish” sizes – will especially enjoy shopping here for swimsuits – mostly fabulous bikinis – and casual clothing.

  • Kahului’s other shopping center, anchored by Longs Drug Store and Star Market. Cost Less Imports is fun, and Kahului Florist is a good place for lei (garlands).

  • Maui Marketplace

Sports Authority, Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, Old Navy, and Office Max have outlets here. The locally owned Hawai’i Liquor Superstore has an outstanding selection of wines.

  • Locals get here early for the best selection of fresh flowers and produce. There are also lots of T-shirts, inexpensive gift items, and the stuff folks have cleaned out of their garages.

  • Nāpili Plaza

A neighborhood-style center, with a surprise to be found in the form of a tiny military museum. There’s also a good florist, a bank, and mail services center.

  • A pleasant spot for a fulsome cocktail or a fruity afternoon snack; the exotic tropical concoctions can often double as both.

  • Take your time perusing the collectibles here – glass bottles, aloha shirts, jewelry, and more. You may just find an affordable treasure.

  • Mainlanders will feel right at home amid Blockbusters, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and Hawai’i’s largest Safeway. For local flavor, Roy’s Kīhei is a good choice, as is Hilo Hattie (see Hilo Hattie).
