  • 1. Waterfront Restaurant

The name says it all. Literally at the ocean’s edge, fresh fish prepared in several different ways each night is why the Waterfront has such staying power.

  • 2. Stella Blues

Now in bigger and better digs at Azeka Mauka, the very popular Stella Blues takes its name from a song by California’s Grateful Dead. Try the tofu scramble for breakfast – one of many vegetarian selections.

  • 3. Shaka Sandwich & Pizza

Nostalgic East Coasters will be sated at this unassuming little restaurant, which serves the best pizza this side of Brooklyn and the best Philly cheesesteaks this side of, well, Philadelphia.

  • 4. Alexander’s Fish & Chips

Fresh fish, shrimp, chicken, and potatoes are fried in canola oil (or broiled if you prefer). Perfect for a picnic lunch on one of Kīhei’s beaches.

  • 5. Joe’s Bar & Grill

Fresh fish, steak, and ribs are served at this lovely open-air restaurant. Great desserts and an excellent wine list.

  • 6. Sarento’s on the Beach

You can’t get closer to the beach than Sarento’s. Corporate Chef George Gomes oversees the menu of contemporary Italian favorites, rustled up with island flair.

  • 7. Maui Onion

Sit poolside at the Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort (see Renaissance Wailea Beach Resort) and tuck into the fabulous Maui onion rings and delicious smoothies that have made this place famous.

  • 8. Tsunami

Night owls can dance ’til dawn on weekends at this stylish club with its capacious dance floor and state-of-the-art sound system.

  • 9. Spago

Fresh fish, creatively prepared, dynamite desserts, stunning presentations, and city-style service are the hallmarks of Wolfgang Puck’s aquatically styled restaurant.

  • 10. SeaWatch Restaurant

Exceptional ocean and mountain views are matched by “coastal” cuisine (miso-glazed tiger prawns or pepper-crusted seared ahi, for example) at this restaurant ensconced in the Gold & Emerald courses Clubhouse (see Golf Courses and Wailea Emerald).
