Ironwood Ranch Riding Stables (669 4991), Pony Express (667 2200), and Mendes Ranch (871 5222) provide equestrian pleasures in the hills and woods.
3. Dive Equipment

Rental shops abound, but Kīhei’s Maui Dive (879 3388) also charters boats to Molokini.
4. Fishing Charters

5. Sailing

Paragon Sailing Charters (244 2087) and Kapaluakai (665 0344) set sail from Lahaina.
6. Kayaking

Maui Kayaks in Kīhei (874 4000) offers trips in the azure coastal waters, combining kayaking and snorkeling.
7. Ocean Activities Center

With desks all over the island, this organization can arrange all manner of water activities (main number: 879 4485).
8. Helicopter Tours

Two companies, Blue Hawaiian (871 8844) and Sunshine Helicopters (871 0722), offer airborne tours of the island.
9. Compass

A “must have” if you plan to hike or cycle in remote areas.
10. Extra Clothes

For any activities high up the slopes of Haleakalā, you must take warm clothing.
