  • A treasure trove of 1930s to ’50s glassware, tableware, furniture, and plenty of Hawaiiana.

  • Borders Books, Music & Café

The vast stock includes a full selection of Hawaiian music and books, while the café serves good coffee, breakfast items, and light lunches.

  • A pharmacy, on-site photo processing, local foodstuffs, toiletries, stationery items, magazines, and even rubber slippers: it’s all at Longs.

  • Kahului’s other shopping center, anchored by Longs Drug Store and Star Market. Cost Less Imports is fun, and Kahului Florist is a good place for lei (garlands).

  • Maui Marketplace

Sports Authority, Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, Old Navy, and Office Max have outlets here. The locally owned Hawai’i Liquor Superstore has an outstanding selection of wines.

  • Locals get here early for the best selection of fresh flowers and produce. There are also lots of T-shirts, inexpensive gift items, and the stuff folks have cleaned out of their garages.

  • Queen Ka’ahumanu Center

Maui’s largest shopping center, this two-level mall is where you’ll find national chains like Macy’s, The Gap, and Sharper Image, alongside quintessentially local stores like Camelia Seed Shop (local snacks).

  • The supermarket’s deli is fabulous, and the on-site bakery turns out the best artisan breads on the Island.

  • One of Hawai’i’s best-loved fabric and fashion designers, Sig Zane is almost single-handedly responsible for the revitalization of Market St. in Wailuku. His fabrics, mostly depicting native Hawaiian flora and fauna, are instantly recognizable.

  • Everything from baby gifts to fragrant bath products, greeting cards to handbags.
