  • Paneled walls, thick carpet, and soft lights give this place its oldworld charm. Enjoy a cigar and a cocktail while enjoying the view of the yachts at Key West Bight.

  • This was the original Sloppy Joe’s, where Hemingway was a regular. Live bands feature all the time; Conch hero Jimmy Buffett used to sing here.

  • Established in 1890 and still going strong. Lots of locals, pool tables, the grotty interior so loved in Key West, and all kinds of live music on weekends.

  • One of the best-known bars due to a far-reaching ad campaign – it’s part of a Florida chain. Expect lots of heavy drinking and live music every night.

  • Local-boy-made-good Jimmy Buffett is the owner of this barrestaurant-souvenir shop. There’s live music nightly, and on occasion the Parrot Head leader himself shows up.

  • Entertainment Complex This complex is one club with 10 bars. Rick’s Downstairs has live music, Rick’s Upstairs is one of the hottest dance clubs in town.

  • This bar is located in the Historic Seaport District, offering open-air views of the waterfront and live music all the time.

  • Sloppy Joe’s

You can get a full meal as well as just a drink at this prominently situated and always noisy bar. It’s heavy on Hemingway memorabilia, since he used to hang out here as well as at the original Sloppy Joe’s (see Captain Tony’s Saloon).

  • The Bull

Three bars in one, on three different floors. Street level always has some live entertainment going on, while the top floor open deck is the Garden of Eden, the famous clothingoptional bar (see “The Garden of Eden,” Key West).

  • Located on the seventh floor of the Holiday Inn La Concha Hotel, the Top Lounge is one of the best places to get a 360-degree view of the island and beyond, drink in hand. You can also go up for the view when the bar is closed.
