Nowher else on earth seems to be so happily addicted to glamour as Miami Beach. All the traits of modern life are here, pushed to the limit: symbols of speed, wealth, and status are vaunted everywhere you look in this body-conscious, sexually charged resort. Key Biscayne, the next big island to the south, provides a stark contast to the dynamism and self-consciousness of its neighbor; here you will find a tranquil and family-oriented atmosphere pervading parks, perfect beaches, and a scattering of museums.
More on the Deco District-
As the name would suggest, a more low-key choice, where you can listen to jazz and blues by candlelight, and, presumably, feed your id.

-
Co-owned by pop Cuban songstress Gloria Estefan, it’s cocina cubana prepared SoBestyle. Try the appetizer sampler for starters and some rico mojitos (yummy rum drink with mint leaves).
-
It’s not all about suds at this much-frequented laundromat and full-service bar, alive with clean, cruisy locals and a throbbing dance beat.
-
Always hot, with upbeat music and a huge Floribbean menu. The action spills onto the sidewalk.
-
Part of Crandon Park, this center contains a unique black mangrove reef of fossilized wood and roots along the northeast shore of Key Biscayne. Wearing suitable foot protection, you can wade in shallow waters to explore the underwater world. The nature center is named after the woman who almost single-handedly saved the Everglades from being overrun by housing developments, and it offers information and guided tours.
