  • Are these details incorrect?
  • 1. Jazid

As the name would suggest, a more low-key choice, where you can listen to jazz and blues by candlelight, and, presumably, feed your id.

  • 2. crobar

Housed in the former Cameo movie theater, this place employs high-tech prestidigitations to give you the sense of floating in a Surrealist’s dreamworld.

  • 3. Penrod’s Complex

A good-value club, with several bars and dance floors. Downstairs is the upbeat Nikki Beach, with a non-stop party atmosphere. Upstairs is the exclusive Pearl Lounge.

  • 4. Rumi

Named as it is after the 13thcentury Sufi mystic, you would expect to hear world music here, and you do, as well as house, trance, and other Buddha Bartype lounge music.

  • 5. Opium Garden

Favored by the likes of Julia Roberts, this open-air venue is one of the most exclusive, so be prepared to wait. Mostly house music.

  • 6. Mynt

Go – even if it’s just to sample a tipple or two from the cocktail menu. This stylish, sophisticated nightspot is for a hip South Beach crowd in the know.

  • 7. Nerve Lounge

It’s a bit off the beaten path, but this is a bar, lounge, and dance club all in one. Hip-hop reigns supreme, with non-stop music and a party atmosphere.

  • 8. Tantra Restaurant and Lounge

Tantra pleases all the senses, with the stunning interior – fresh-grass floor, water wall, fiber optic “sky”, and erotic art. That’s aside from the food, aphrodisiac drinks, and new-age music.

  • 9. B.E.D.

Don’t be a couch potato, go to B.E.D. instead. A bubbling mix of gay and straight, and, yes, there are actual beds for lounging on.

  • 10. Blue

Very laid back and cool, as in the color that dominates in this fun cocktail bar-and-club. Musical nights include tropical house, flashbacks, flow, and soul.
