  • 1. Soyka

Run by the same fellow as the News Café, this is a huge, bistro-like setting with an adventurous Italianesque fusion menu. The sesame-seared salmon with spinach, shiitakes, and sweet soy sauce is not only alliterative but also simply sensationally scrumptious.

  • 2. P. F. Chang’s China Bistro

This is a bright and modern restaurant with an open kitchen, aimed at family-style Chinese food. Try the wok-seared lamb or the prawns with green pearls.

  • 3. Andiamo!

A jaunty little place that specializes in brick-oven pizza, choice panini, salads, and desserts. Homemade cannoli and other goodies for dessert.

  • 4. La Valentina

Take a break from shopping in the Mall to enjoy some goodvalue, good-tasting Mexican food.

  • 5. Hanna Gourmet Diner

Homemade soups; inventive salads, such as tomato with fennel and goat cheese; snapper française; steak au poivre; and an unforgettable fruit tart.

  • 6. Chef Allen’s

International fusion artistry at its finest. The Indian-influenced dishes include “cowboy” steak with tamarind and chili and lobster-crab cakes with fruit chutney. Hazelnut “Kit-Kat” bars make an unusual finish.

  • 7. La Paloma

Old-World ornate, borderline kitsch décor. A superb house salad comes with every entrée. Try oysters Rockefeller, trout amandine, or veal Milanese.

  • 8. Paquito’s Mexican Restaurant

Expect sumptuously fresh tortilla soup, steak Paquitos sautéed in a creamy jalapeño and onion sauce, and a yummy mole verde .

  • 9. Wolfie Cohen’s Rascal House

There is always a line at this noreservations restaurant, but for good reason. The menu features favorites such as cabbage rolls and pot roast. Open from 6:30am daily until late.

  • 10. Picanha’s Grille

Always packed with Brazilians and others. Dishes include meaty linguincinha sausages and rich sautéed prawns. Food here is by buffet only.
