Montréal and Québec City

Situated on the mighty St Lawrence River, the sights of these two cities captivate visitors with their history, culture and festivity. Not only were they both major players in the foundation of Canada but their portside locations have kept them at the heart of international commerce, resulting in a harmonious blend of heritage architecture and exciting modern venues that charm all those who come to Canada’s “belle province.”

  • Due to its slate soil and climate this area has a highly respected wine-growing tradition visible along the Wine Route (Hwy 202) between Dunham and Stanbridge East.

  • A large, popular three-storied club. A live band venue on the ground floor evolves upstairs into a more conventional disco. The action does not begin until after midnight. There’s also a cigar lounge.

  • The world’s largest jazz festival takes over the concourse at Place des Arts in downtown Montréal, as well as neighborhood clubs, restaurants and parks. Each year several million visitors party for 11 days of free outdoor concerts and a wide variety of musical events involving inter-nationally renowned musicians.

  • A Mediterranean decor welcomes locals, students and business people to this relaxed place, where the specialties include osso bucco (veal), pizza and pasta. Breakfast on Thursdays and Fridays too.

  • This former office building has been transformed into a serene hotel in the midst of all the downtown activity. It is highlighted by excellent food and impeccable service.

  • These longstay studios are located in the heart of Le Plateau, with access to boulevard Saint-Laurent and VieuxMontréal.

  • The Italian restaurant of choice for the glitterati, who enjoy its lively atmosphere, large wine list and sensational chefs. Don’t miss tiramisù for dessert.

  • This gourmet haven prepares seafood and meat in creative ways.

  • The perfect place for a night on the town. An inventive restaurant/bar is located upstairs, while downstairs there’s an Irish pub with a dance floor.

  • From the third week of June to the end of July the skies over Old Montréal light up twice a week with these explosive theatrics. Held at La Ronde amusement park (see La Ronde Six Flags Amusement Park, Montréal), countries from around the world display their pyrotechnic talents.
