Situated on the mighty St Lawrence River, the sights of these two cities captivate visitors with their history, culture and festivity. Not only were they both major players in the foundation of Canada but their portside locations have kept them at the heart of international commerce, resulting in a harmonious blend of heritage architecture and exciting modern venues that charm all those who come to Canada’s “belle province.”

The Chateau Beauvallon is an absolutely amazing hotel tucked away in the deep snow of the Les Laurentides Mountains, Quebec. This is a place where you can check out the ranking on Trip Advisor (number 1 hotel in the area) and read all the good reviews on Expedia (average rating of 5 stars out of 5) and won't be disappointed. The inn itself is a gorgeously traditional Quebec-style collection of several lodges containing suites that overlook a bubbling hottub in the foreground and a big frozen lake behind that. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the fireplace in front of the sofa is a must for warming up after a day on the slopes of Mont Tremblant. Friendly staff that actually mean it when they say they want to help you have the best holiday, and don't ever seem like they are putting on a 'tips-please' fake smile. There is nothing I miss more than finishing the day by wallowing in the outdoor hottub, glass of wine in hand, with fat snowflakes drifting down around us. Pure bliss!

This is a fantastic place to visit when in Montreal. Its about an hours drive away and the drive up there itself is spectacular. Once there, an abundance of scenery, activities such as the luge ride, panoramic cable car, plenty of places to eat and drink. We visited in the summer, but I guess in the winter is when it really takes off as a ski resort. But a great place to visit all year round!

Conveniently located located in downtown Montreal, this boutique hotel is close to two major & "happening" streets, Sherbrooke and St.-Laurent. It is also within walking distance to world-class restaurants, fun bars, slice-of-Europe Old Montreal and, if you are in the mood for exercise, Mont-Royal.

Recommended by Fodor’s and Frommer’s and highly praised by local food-critics. Deeply entrenched in downtown Montreal for more than 2 decades. Carefully staffed by people trained to treat every guest as a celebrity. And invitingly decorated with complex figures embedded in simple, modern lines.
Le Taj has a very visible tandoor (clay oven) around which you can see the chef prepare delights such as lamb chops, kebabs, garlic shrimps, chicken tikka and, of course, nan bread.
A large number of our regular patrons make up a who’s who and have been as loyal to us as we have been to them and to our classical recipes.
We also offer an inexpensive buffet at lunch, a veritable symphony of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes.

Great traditional bagels, by the score.
-
This is a very, very cool bagel shop that uses old-world techniques to make bagels - sesame and poppy seed. It is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. You can watch them mix the dough, roll it into shape, boil it, bake it, and throw them into the seed bin. And then buy and eat warm, fresh out of the oven, with cream cheese, lox, etc. that you can buy there. Fabulous experience!!!
