take a trip 120 kilometers south east on the autobahn towards salzburg....turn off at freilassing and head onto laufen a/d salzach, cross the bridge into austria to oberndorf on the other side, where on christmas eve every year without fail you can experience a fantastic festival of carols...this is where in a tiny chapel "silent night, holy night" was composed....the atmosphere at the midnight mass will truly affect you forever.
