Lenbachhaus – the villa of painter Prince Franz von Lenbach – enjoys worldwide renown thanks to its collection of works from the Blue Rider group. The north wing houses the art collection, while the preserved living quarters offer insight into the domestic culture of the Gründerzeit (Foundation Period). In 1994, an underground exhibition space was added.
