1. Il Principe, Pompei

The elegant decor is graced with reproductions of Pompeian art, and the cuisine, too, takes its inspiration from ancient sources. Classical writers and the remains of the city have both provided recipes, which have been adapted to modern tastes. The food has earned the proprietors a Michelin star.

Located inside the archaeological site, near the Forum Baths, this place offers bar service, a self-service cafeteria and a restaurant, with seating under the colonnade. The food is not bad, but the biggest plus is a break from the intensive sightseeing.
