New York

With its skyscrapers, great museums, and bright lights of Broadway, New York is a city of superlatives. There are countless sights that have to be seen, but a handful are truly definitive of the city. These highlights illustrate the very best.

  • Serviced apartments in a central Manhattan location near Bloomingdales. Bar, restaurant and Spa facilities.

  • The Cloisters is an extension of the Met Museum located in Upper Manhattan. It's a stunning collection of European medieval art and architecture.

  • Authentic American diner with great burgers and milkshakes.

  • The Inn at Starlight Lake

This charming inn is located on beautiful Starlight Lake in the northeastern corner of Pennsylvania, 4 miles from the New York border. We had the best meal of our lives in its cozy restaurant, and freshly-baked cookies are always available on side tables throughout the inn. A year-round delight, we were pampered during a winter ice storm that left a sparkling wonderland just beyond our fireside seating.

  • Only in New York would a hotel exist whose rooms are numbered by the Dewey decimal library filing category system. Each room is "decorated" by the books of its number. The lobby is filled with wonderful art books which guests are at liberty to borrow. Aside from that, the rooms are elegant, the beds are comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful and every evening guests are invited to have cheese and wine. The location is wonderful too - just around the corner from the NY library, the Chrysler building and Grand Central Station. Not cheap, but very tranquil and elegant (unusual words for NY).

  • The Maritime Hotel

Perfect for a clear summer night, the patio at The Maratime Hotel is truly an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Dine on rustic Italian in La Bottega or hit Matsuri, for some of the best Japanese in the city. Step outside onto the sprawling terrace filled with trendy New Yorkers and tourists alike. The drinks are pricey, but the atmostphere is worth it.

  • This restaurant is based in the Hotel The Mercer in Soho. A great people watching place for celebs and the beutiful people of new york.

Food is fab and great service - a real treat.

  • A great boutique hotel ideal as a base for wandering around New York's shopping areas as a tourist or even for business. Warm and friendly service from entering the hotel to daily contact with the employees. Reasonably large hotel rooms for New York and very comfortable beds. Had a wonderful stay there and would return at the drop of a hat.

  • The Pleasure Chest

The Place where Charlotte infamously brought her 'Rabbit' ;)

  • The Public Theater

The Public Theater is America's foremost theatrical producer of Shakespeare and new work. It's dedicated to achieving artistic excellence while developing an American theater that is accessible and relevant to all people. It's particularly famous for it's free 'Shakespeare in the Park' productions set in Central Park each summer.
