  • Barney Greengrass

Apparently THE place to get the biggest sandwich you will ever find in your life. One particular infamous sandwich has every food type (meat, fish, vegetable...) known to exist. Men only need apply.

  • A classic Parisian bistro with a zinc-topped bar and a hip clientele. The steak frites can’t be beat.

  • Every night feels like a Latin party here; modern dishes from the Cuban chef are inspired by cuisine from Peru to Puerto Rico.

  • Carnegie Deli

Don't leave New York without visiting Carnegie Deli. This favorite Jewish deli serves up the best (and biggest) corned beef sandwiches and New York Cheesecakes in the world! Literally! Bring your patience and your appetite as the lines are long and the portions are enormous. Its worth the wait-the food is fantastic, and a trip to New York isn't complete without over-indulging in one of New York's most famous dishes.

  • Fantastic diner on Broadway. The staff are in 50's costumes and sing show songs in between serving delicious food. Definitely have the Oreo milkshake!

  • Upstairs at the justifiably famous supermarket, there is the best place for breakfast or brunch in New York. I suggest the cream cheese, skallion and tomato scrambled eggs on brioche with a gallon of coffee: once a week I allow myself their pancakes with maple syrup and, as a concession to health, blueberries. Bliss.

  • The bountiful antipasto bar is good enough reason to visit, but the thin-crust pizzas and Italian menu are equally tempting.

  • Sophisticated Tuscan food keeps this stylish room filled with Lincoln Center-goers at night.

  • Fans say this tiny café serves the best Italian food on the Upper West Side, at the most reasonable prices, which explains the constant lines.

  • Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s namesake restaurant is among the best in New York.
