1. Best Western Lake Buena Vista Hotel
All rooms have balconies at this official Disney hotel, some of which overlook beautiful gardens bordering the lake. There’s free transportation to Disney’s major parks, and it’s within walking distance of Marketplace, Pleasure Island, and West Side.

2. Caribbean Beach Resort
Disney’s largest hotel (with 2,112 rooms) is split into five “villages”: Aruba, Trinidad, Martinique, Barbados, and Jamaica, each with its own pool and sandy beach. The rooms are on the small side but are good value.

The elegant lakefront rooms at this three-story, timber-framed resort offer a tranquil water-and-woodlands view. Facilities include an outdoor pool with Jacuzzi, a fitness center, and nature trails. There’s an 18-hole golf course (see Celebration Golf Club) too.

Downtown’s best B&B has four period buildings, from the Victorian Norment-Parry Inn to the Art Deco Wellborn House, which has apartments and a honeymoon suite.

This mid-priced hotel has two outdoor heated swimming pools, a games room, and a Pizza Hut restaurant on site. It is well located for theme parks.

This newly built, Victorian-style hotel overlooks Lake Helen. The Queen Victoria suite, with its crimson furnishings and four-poster bed, is the most inviting of the six rooms. Gourmet breakfasts can include spinach strata and potato pancakes.

The towering spires of this themed hotel make it look like a fairytale castle – if castles came in pink and blue, that is. Its 216 rooms and seven suites come with big-screen TVs and Sony Playstations. The resort has a roof terrace, a fitness center, and two restaurants.

A $16 million renovation helped convert this former convention hotel into one that woos travelers who want to be near the Universal parks. The hotel’s two towers house 742 modern rooms and suites; those on the west side overlook the parks and CityWalk.
