  • An Irish bar in a hotel usually inspires yawns, but the authentic An Tobar gets thumbs up. The beer selection could be better, but the Guinness and Bass suit the lowkey crowd.

  • A bakery that doubles as a bar by night. The bakery is open six days (not Sundays) to 5pm, and the bar opens at 6pm Thursday to Saturday.

  • The bar at this eaterie is often packed with an upscale crowd more interested in the score with each other than that of the sports matches on TV. Live jazz-funk groups play out back.

  • The trendy grill at Brio is wildly popular, but a lot of people come just to hang out at the bar here. Cocktails flow fast and furious for a crowd of well-heeled locals.

  • With a small stage that hosts jazz jams to psycho rock, Copper Rocket is the only true music bar in the area. Microbrews and import beers fuel the young audience.

  • Home to a serious collection of wines, this branch of Dexter’s is more upscale than Downtown’s, except on Thursdays when there’s a band playing classic rock.

  • Fiddler’s Green

An energetic Irish pub with darts, music, and a full selection of draft beers and stouts. It stays open until 2am most nights, making it popular for a last round. The food is good, too.

  • Houston’s

One of Winter Park’s top spots in which to be seen. Maybe the draw is the generous glasses of wine poured here, or the fact that the entire restaurant menu is available at the bar.

  • With tables spilling out onto Park Avenue, this café bar is the bar of choice for an older set, who enjoy a cigar and glass of wine.

  • This upscale restaurant also has a bar that is always packed with patrons. There’s live music on Friday nights, too.
