From Notre-Dame to the Eiffel Tower, Paris holds some of the world's most famous sights and these highlights should be top of the list for any first-time visitor. With the exception of the overtly modern Pompidou Centre, they have been landmarks of this elegant and romantic capital for centuries and remain awe-inspiring sights, no matter how often you visit the city.

There’s a great sense of history in this revered jazz club. It first opened its doors in 1947, since which time legends including Miles Davis and Billie Holiday have performed here. Today, however, it’s mostly local talent that you will see on stage. As well as music, there’s a relaxing bar and restaurant.

Paris’s first department store was founded on the Left Bank in 1852, its structure partially designed by Gustave Eiffel (see Eiffel Tower). Today it’s even more hip than its competitors, with an in-store boutique featuring avant-garde fashions and music. It also has designer clothes, its own line of menswear and the enormous La Grande Epicerie food hall.

Le Cab is a restaurant come club and has a great feel of the rich and famous. Its decor is sumptuous and lavish, rich in wall hangings, chandeliers and leather seating. The food is excellent and so is the service. The club creates a great atmosphere throughout the venue, on trend music and a great crowd. Make sure you dress up to experience this night and even though the drinks are expensive (E15 each) its worth it just for one!
