From Notre-Dame to the Eiffel Tower, Paris holds some of the world's most famous sights and these highlights should be top of the list for any first-time visitor. With the exception of the overtly modern Pompidou Centre, they have been landmarks of this elegant and romantic capital for centuries and remain awe-inspiring sights, no matter how often you visit the city.

The best chicken salad you'll ever have tasted, and reasonably priced. Mmm!

The Mosque de Paris is situated behind the Institut du Monde Arab (Arab Institute) and is the oldest mosque in France.
The mosque itself if great to visit, but my favourite bit is the cafe to one side. Beautiful leafy courtyards provide a unique atmosphere - a perfect place to visit on a sunny day.

This cute little jewelry shop features unique one-of-a-kind items all hand made in Paris. Lots of wonderful pieces full of colour and fantasy!
-
A wonderfully authentic Parisian restaurant, dating back over 200 years, serving simple french dishes in original surroundings. Not fancy or expensive, but nonetheless delightful. Well worth a visit.

The food in Paris is always overpriced and when you have children in tow, it can be hard to find them something they like. Whilst at the Eiffel Tower this year though, we all enjoyed the most wonderful crepes from the little stalls just outside from the tower, overlooking the view, fantastic for those on a budget and with children, as there was so many versions and flavours for everyone.

A local Brasserie right by the Eiffel Tower with excellent food & service! Our waiter was very friendly-- probably the most friendly waiter we met on our whole trip to France. My husband & I enjoyed the most amazing Bordeaux wine along with our meal. Every course was delightful, but the creme brulee was especially divine. Go eat there-- we stumbled upon it because it was near to our hotel!

This exhibition is a first time and exceptional event, as no other group exhibition presenting the work of living Sri Lankan artists has taken place outside of Sri Lanka. The Mona Bismarck Foundation in Paris and the University of Visual and Performing Arts in Sri Lanka have chosen to create this exhibition within the framework of Sri Lanka’s national history: sixty Sri Lankan paintings for the 60th anniversary of Sri Lanka’s Independence to be celebrated this year.

Famous architect Jean Nouvel's magnificent glass building is definitely worth a visit. As well as the impressive structure of the building, there is also an opportunity to enjoy the wild-flower garden and 200 year old, Lebonese Cedar (planted by Chateaubriand (1768-1848), which grows alongside it.
The Foundation Cartier is also a gallery for modern art, housing various exhibitions within a peaceful and elegant setting.
-
A fantastic little Italian restaurant with wonderful food and a real buzz. I wish we had more places like this in London!
-
Galerie Vivienne, between the Bourse and the Palais-Royal, one of the nicest galleries in Paris. Having been beautifully restored, today its old-fashioned charm is definitely not to be missed. Inside the glass-and-iron-roofed arcade you’ll find interesting and luxurious shops, such as the Jean-Paul Gautier boutique, and some more affordable ones. Plus a delightful tearoom, art galleries and a brilliant wine shop.
