Paris

From Notre-Dame to the Eiffel Tower, Paris holds some of the world's most famous sights and these highlights should be top of the list for any first-time visitor. With the exception of the overtly modern Pompidou Centre, they have been landmarks of this elegant and romantic capital for centuries and remain awe-inspiring sights, no matter how often you visit the city.

  • Laperouse

A historical restaurant of French gastronomy. Gourmet food is served in this restaurant that promises an incredible experience for that special intimate dinner. With great food and even greater wine the atmosphere and great service contribute to what should be a perfect evening in a truly historical restaurant.

  • Great local cheap food where the real lcoals eat - crepes, fast food, restaurants - its all there and a fraction of the price.

  • Wonderfully atmospheric bar in the Latin Quarter, filled with intellectual-looking students and probably the most lethal sangria ever. Be weary of the stairs after a glass too many...

  • Le Baron

Once upon a time, talk of Le Baron nights would have triggered fond memories of eating fishfinger sandwiches and watching Top of the Pops in the mid-1970's. But, no longer. Le Baron is tiniest, coolest, moodiest club on the Seine. Its hard to get in, believe me. Really. We had to e-mail many times in advance and bring a noted celebrity in order to just get our noses through the door. But, if you can get in, and you can afford the 200 Euro charge for a bottle of champagne, then you are in for a rare treat. Offering an eclectic mix of live music performance and DJ sets, this club is the closest thing to hip I've ever come across in 17 years of visiting the Old Gay. Proper. No messing. Dripping with the distressed glamour and effortless cool of the French underground. It's the Paris of Sebastien Tellier, Air, Phoenix, Marie Antoinetter, Baise Moi (Ok, not Baise Moi) and Daft Punk. There is no sign of pompous men with moustaches, wearing scarves and dreaming of Francois Mitterand. And if there were people like that there, they were doing it ironically. An important milestone in Parisian culture, this is a return to its bohemian roots. Go there, spend the value of a small house in Middlesborough and enjoy yourself.

  • Le Cab

Le cab is a great restaurant/club, the food is superb quality and the club is something else. Not cheap to drink but worth going in for at least one cocktail!

At the famous Parisian club, you can now enjoy the pleasure of dining in a restaurant whose reputation is already established.

The chef offers you to discover a trendy and refined cuisine in an intimate and relaxed atmosphere.

After dinner, the dance floor and its eclectic musical fare are waiting for you.

  • Le Cab

Le Cab is a restaurant come club and has a great feel of the rich and famous. Its decor is sumptuous and lavish, rich in wall hangings, chandeliers and leather seating. The food is excellent and so is the service. The club creates a great atmosphere throughout the venue, on trend music and a great crowd. Make sure you dress up to experience this night and even though the drinks are expensive (E15 each) its worth it just for one!

  • This was a small gem that we found by chance as we were shopping. It is a small, very traditional French cuisine restaurant, no more than 15 tables, with beautifully starched napkins and shining cutlery, and the food was both amazing and reasonable (I ordered duck with orange sauce/le menu). Service was also fabulous.

  • Le Montclair Montmartre

Located at the back of the Montmartre Hill it is a great location away from the crowds but still close enough to enjoy staying in the Montmartre area and all the bars and restaurants it has to offer. For what the Montclair lacks in features makes it up by being cheap, clean and an excellent location.
