1. Hôtel Bourgogne et Montana

Stylish hotel, with the Musée d’Orsay and the Invalides close by. Top floor rooms have great views across the Seine. Paintings line the walls, antique furniture and gilt-lined mirrors abound.
2. ArtusHôtel

Indulge yourself in the food shops of the Rue de Buci (see Cacao et Chocolat), then indulge yourself back in this hotel – especially if you have booked the suite with a Jacuzzi from which there are great views of the Latin Quarter.
3. Hotel Square

Boutique-style hotel with 22 rooms and views down the Seine to the Eiffel Tower. Slightly out of the centre, but makes up for it with style.
4. Hôtel du Quai Voltaire

Impressionist artist Camille Pissarro (1831–1903) painted the view of the Seine and Notre-Dame visible from most of the guest rooms here. Rooms are small, but the warm welcome and the location more than make up for that.
5. Hôtel des Grands Hommes

Great views of the Panthéon from this intimate 32-room family hotel in an 18th-century house. The rooms are reasonably sized.
6. Terrass Hôtel

The Terrass has fabulous views over Paris which can be enjoyed from its rooftop terrace. Most rooms in this early 19th-century building are now air-conditioned; all are comfortable. There is a bar, restaurant and other facilities.
7. Le Notre-Dame

Right by the Seine with magnificent views of Notre-Dame, the bright decor here makes up for the size of the rooms. There are three suites.
8. Les Rives de Notre-Dame

The view of Notre-Dame from this 10-room hotel is arguably the best in Paris. The decor is modern and the rooms are fairly spacious.

Across the rue de Rivoli from the Louvre (see Musée du Louvre) with views of the Tuileries, this is a splendid old hotel.

A view of the Eiffel Tower from the top floors of this charming hotel. Rooms are equipped for business travellers, but there are family rooms.
